In a statement on the web page of the Council of Europe, the vice-president of Moldova´s Parliamant, Dr. Valeriu Ghiletchi, reports that his investigation of the Norwegian Barnevernet as the appointed Rapporteur of the Council of Europe has been adopted by the Council, and will be presented to the full assembly in June. The video is in Romanian. We have pasted in the accompanying text, translated to English:
«We have won a new victory at PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) in the struggle for children's right to be with their parents and their families.
My report on the Bodnariu family case, to which the five children, including a three-month-old baby, unjustly taken by the Norwegian authorities, was adopted yesterday in the Commission.
Through this report, if supported by the full PACE plenary session in June, the European community will be asked to ensure children's right not to be separated from their parents against their will and without justification and confirmation by the court .
The best interests of the child include their right to be with their families.»
