Poland´s Ambassador to Norway, Ms. Iwona Liliana Woicka-Żuławska, sent two weeks ago a strong protest to the Foreign Minister in Norway, but as yet there has been no answer.
«Idag fra hovedstaden», the tv feauture show that is produced by pastor Jan-Aage Torp, has repeatedly contacted Foreign Minister, Ms. Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide about the matter, and as late as Monday at noon they received an email from the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ms. Siri R. Svendsen: «Your inquiry is duly received. We are looking at it and will come back to you».
The TV show also contacted the Minister of Children and Equality, Ms. Linda Hofstad Helleland, who on Monday answered through her Senior Advisor, Ms. Line Torvik: «The Political Leadership of BLD can not involve ourselves in individual cases, and regarding the Vienna Convention, it is about consular coexistence and belongs under the MFA´s area of responsilbiities.»
President of Parliament, Ms. Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen, does not wish to comment on the case, she writes in response to the email inquiry. Parlamentary Whip for the Progress Party, Mr. Hans Andreas Limi, says: «I do not know the case». The Children´s Ombudsman writes: «(We can) not comment on individual cases, and it is outside of our mandate to assess consular rights for adults». «Idag fra hovedstaden»´s follow-up email underscores that this is about a child´s consular rights, but no response is given.
In an email today to «Idag fra hovedstaden» from the office of the Foreign Minister, her Spokesperson, Ms. Siri R. Svendsen, writes:
«Questions regarding Barnevernet must be directed to the Department of Children and Equality. However, the Foreign Ministry is aware that there in a relevant case is disagreement between the local Barnevernet and representatives of Poland´s Embassy about the role and behavior of the Embassy. We will follow this case closely.»
