The national and international pressure on Poland in the Silje Garmo case is increasing. The Vice President of Romania´s Parliament, Dr. Ben-Oni Ardelean, contacted two weeks ago his colleague in the Polish Parliament, Professor Ryszard Terlecki, Deputy Marshal (Vice President) of the Sejm about Silje Garmo´s asylum application.
Dr Ardelean wrote:
«One of my friends from Norway asked me if I can talk with you about a sensitive issue regarding child protection / family asking for political assylum. I can provide more info if needed, but I am sure that the people from Polish Foreign Affairs knows very well the situation. I also attach a PACE PA report that I initiated years ago, that passed the commissions and in two weeks from now will be voted in the plenary session of PACE PA. The report explains the situation of child protection in Norway, unfortunately a very bad one that destroys a lot of lives. Please help with this if you can! Thank you so much!»
Today, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Coucil of Europe (PACE) will start the much anticipated deliberations regarding the Norwegian «Barnevernet».
