On Friday evening, June 22nd, during the «Road to VICTORY»-conference in the Midsummer-weekend, there will be a Micro Recital after Dr. Ben-Oni Ardelean, the Vice-President of Romania´s Parliament, has spoken on «Europe´s and Norway´s Battle for the Values».
The young Romanian pianist Dragoș Andrei Cantea and the young Norwegian opera singer Benedikte Sofie Ribe will present a Micro Recital (mini concert) immediately after Dr. Ardelean´s speech. The Micro Recital has the heading: «A Musical Homage to European and Norwegian Values».
- We are jubilant that Dragos and Benedikte have accepted our invitation. When Aina & I asked Director Kari Brochmann Skoklefald of Solheimen Hotel about this, she said a resounding YES. We believe that high-quality music and song is among the most splendid of what God has given to humanity, and that this will happen in a superb concert arena like Hedalen Stave Church, makes this outstanding, says Jan-Aage who met Dragos and Benedikte after the magnificent concert last week for the Centenary of Romania. - They both impacted me, he says.
Jan-Aage Torp says that the Micro Recital will be conducted with an electronic piano.
---began her education in classical song at the Department of Music, UiA, and then she was admitted at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she completed her Bachelor. Among other things, Benedikte has been awarded the Amalienborg Prize (having achievements in the spirit of Kirsten Flagstad) and Kristiansand Municipality's cultural prize for young artists. She has experience in major opera productions where she participated in Carmen, The Magic Flute and Hansel & Grethel. After winning the soloist prize in the music contest «Young Talents», Benedikte was also a soloist with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra at Kilden, March 2015 and had her Oslo Opera House debut in the summer of 2017.
...is one of Romania’s leading pianists of his generation, being a laureate at several competitions around Europe. He is a soloist with plenty of Romanian symphony orchestras and had recitals in Scandinavia, Switzerland, Italy and all over Romania. After graduating with highest honours from the George Enescu National University of Arts in Iași, Romania, he is ongoing his second Master’s Degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music, studying with Håvard Gimse and Kathryn Stott. At the same time, he is pursuing a PhD research in Romania. He is developing cultural projects under the care of Romanian Cultural Institute in order to promote the values of Romania in Scandinavia.
The Midsummer conference is held in companionship between Solheimen Hotel in Sør-Aurdalen in Valdres and Christian Coalition World (KKN).
